Backstory

So, this is my first blog post…EVER. I have wanted to start a blog many times before but could never work up the courage to do so. What would I say? Would it be interesting? Would I regret what I wrote 6 months down the road?

All of these questions aside, I have decided to delve into my very first blog. I am posting this on my Author site (as I’m sure you’ve figured out by now) as a means to keep everything organized. As of now, I am an aspiring author teetering between sending out mass amounts of query letters for the fiction novel I just finished or taking the plunge into self-publishing. I plan to blog about these options later on, but for now I’ll just stick to the basics.

Over the past few months, I have been putting pen to paper once again. It has been quite literally a very long time since I have written for sheer enjoyment. Mounds of college essays and work related projects just sucked the joy of writing out of me for some time. Now that I have settled down a bit (that makes me sound old, doesn’t it?) I have found myself getting back to writing; something that used to be both enjoyable and therapeutic in my younger days. (Okay, now that really made me sound old.)

Anyhow, this blog will probably be endless ramblings about anything and everything: my crazy-inspiring 5 year old daughter, my journey to becoming a full-fledged published author (my ultimate dream), my daughter’s cat that I swear says “hello” when I tell it “good morning”, God’s faithfulness in my life despite all of my flaws, Disney World vacations, everyday responsibilities and something I hope to start (and commit to) called “The Sunday Seven” where I will talk about seven random things on (you guessed it…) SUNDAY that happened to me throughout the week.

Okay- I think that’s a little backstory of how this blog came to be.

350 words in approximately 5 minutes; not too shabby for a first post if I do say so myself. 🙂

Until next time…
