Finally, it has happened! I am officially a paid author! (Woot! Woot!)

For those who may not know, I accomplished a lifelong dream in and of itself in June by publishing my very first book. Now that Amazon’s 90 day waiting period has passed, I finally received my first payment!!!!

And, as promised, in this post, I did in fact buy some new pillows:

Yup, they’re new and plushy and wonderful and they’re all because of YOU!

Thank you so much to anyone that bought a copy! I appreciate (as does anyone that visits my house and has had to experience my last pillows) you so, so much!

I am beyond excited. Not only has ย a dream came true, but it is paying off…literally. ๐Ÿ™‚

Okay, I’m going to go cuddle up with my new pillows and watch the finale of Breaking Bad now.

Life is good.

Until next time. . .

The Sunday Seven

This edition of The Sunday Seven is going to be a bit different. Rather than share seven things I did, I’m going to share seven pictures. Why? Well, my hubby turned the big 3-0 this weekend (technically today, 9/16…HAPPY BDAY HUBS!) and I have literally devoted nearly every minute of this last week to planning his surprise 80’s themed Birthday Bash. I initially starting planning this party in January (yeah, I’m a little crazy like that) but anyone that has ever planned a surprise party knows that the week leading up to it is CrAzy.

So, with that being said, I give you:

The Hub’s Bodacious Birthday Bash!

1. The Photo Booth props. ๐Ÿ™‚

2. Setting up the par-tay. Neon balloons, Slinkies, and Rubix cubes…can’t go wrong with that.

3. Some pics of the hubby in the ’80’s. He didn’t have many baby pics, so I had to get creative. Check out the hubby as Kevin from the Wonder Years, John Stamos, and Vanilla Ice.

4.-7. ย Some pics of the totally awesome outfits. ๐Ÿ™‚

We had such a fun time! The hubby was surprised and we all rocked out to 80’s tunes, karaoke and some super fun games. It was a crazy week but so, so worth it. Couldn’t have done it without awesome friends and family…thank you all!! ๐Ÿ™‚

Hope you all had a great week!

Until next time. . .

Seven things that happened last week…here we go:

1. Not actually sure if this happened last week or the week before since everything has kind of been 10 kinds of crazy, but I have to brag on my little one for a sec. We took her to be tested to see if she could skip Kindergarten and she totally aced all of the tests thrown at her. One proud momma. ๐Ÿ™‚ I give all the credit to God. Lord knows neither I nor her daddy are that smart. ๐Ÿ˜‰

2. On the same page as the previous post, both little one and I survived our first week of school! We are officially homeschoolers now. ๐Ÿ™‚

3. Let’s see, I have been so busy with school/work that I honestly haven’t written anything. ๐Ÿ˜ฆ ย Kind of bummed about that, but feeling a writing spree coming on soon.

4. I joined a local writer’s group! I feel like this one is going to be a good fit for me. Excited to learn and talk with other authors.

5. Schooled my hubby in a game of basketball. ๐Ÿ˜‰ Okay, so technically he beat me, but my skills are improving!

6. Still getting some good feedback from Trusted. Lots of great input for the sequel coming from everyone’s reviews. Remember, if you’re interested in reviewing a copy for FREE, contact me using the Contact link above.

7. And finally, my guilty pleasure of the week: Plants vs. Zombies. My brother introduced the game to the little one and it has completely sucked me in. It’s like the new Candy Crush Saga for me. Too addicting.

Hope everyone had an awesome week!

Until next time. . .

Hardback Books

So, after reading this article, I’m a little more intrigued about publishing Trusted as a hardback too. Most of my sales have been word of mouth, so I’m not overly concerned about having it available on Amazon. There’s something so intriguing about having my book in hardback form; it’s almost like it would seem “more real”. Just a quick thought for the day.

How about other authors out there? Are hardback copies a must?

Until next time. . .

The Sunday Seven

I’m squeezing in a super quick Sunday Seven tonight…school starts on Tuesday and I’ve got to get my classes together. EEK. So, here we go:

1. I got confirmation this week that I am doing my very first Author event in November. It will be a book signing/local author event in Texarkana called the Fall Gathering of Authors. I’m super excited/nervous about it; it should be lots of fun.

2. I have had a breakthrough with my writing! I’ve been churning out pages left and right for Destined as well as outlined my next two (un-Trusted-related) novels. ๐Ÿ™‚ ย

3. My counselor (hi Ben!) has challenged me this week to tell two people about my book. I mentioned in a previous post how crazy difficult this has been for me, but I’m going to give it a shot. Say a little prayer for me. ๐Ÿ˜‰

4. I have been exercising with the hubby. Ugh. This .gif pretty much sums up theย tortureย experience:

5. I’m over halfway through with a ladies Bible study that has really been awesome. I strongly encourage everyone to get the One in a Million study by Priscilla Shrirer. It’s been refreshing.

6. I got to enjoy a wonderful weekend with my family. ๐Ÿ™‚ We played a family game of basketball, which was great…minus the time I went to block a shot from my brother and his sweat actually touched me:

7. It’s officially Fall at my house. No, not weather-wise, but all of the decor is up. ๐Ÿ™‚ My favorite time of year.

Hope you all have a wonderful Labor Day Weekend!! ๐Ÿ™‚

Until next time. . .
